A reversion

Hello everyone! You probably haven’t seen this sort of stuff in a while. Well, perhaps some of you are tired of just small tidbits once in a while, and aren’t getting enough reading material from us. Maybe some of you just miss Snoopy being on the cover of an issue every month. In any case, we are making a comeback with old school issues! The OG’s! Snoopy! For those of you that are unfamiliar with these issues, Stratford EleMonthly and SummerMonthly news used to do this before they evolved into SVM, and created a site with little morsels of information. Well, get ready, because this is the MAIN COURSE!

What’s new? (Or old, depending on how you see it)

  • As you’re probably tired of hearing, we are going to release big chunks of information with these newspapers. We will alternate between small articles and large newspapers. The small articles are for those who want information to come quicker. The large newspapers are for those who want the real deal, or just want to see snoopy again.
  • A long time ago, this newspaper was only concerned with one school: Stratford. Now, we sometimes include worldly news and we dig deeper into it.
  • Through our travel interviews and journals, others can learn about different cultures around the world

The USA Men’s Basketball Team is preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics with a dynamic and talented roster. Featuring NBA veterans such as Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, and Stephen Curry, alongside emerging stars such as Jayson Tatum and Anthony Edwards, the team is a formidable force. Interviews

Interview with Ishaan Jain (India vacation)

Q: Was this your first trip or are you returning again to India?

A:  No, I have been there before COVID, so it has been a few years.

Q: What was the best part about going to India?

A: The street food and the support system. There are many places to visit as well.

Q: How does life in India compare to life in the states?

A: India is much more populated, so life is really different, and there are a lot of bugs. I prefer the states as there are less people and life is much more private.

Q: Could you please explain to us a bit about any cultures that you experienced in India? (diets, religion, etc.)

A:  The culture is really good. Many people are vegetarian like me, so food is much better. Not many people have diets, so people just eat whatever they want.

Q: Thank you for your time.

A: Thanks for the interview!!!

Interview with Matthew Fu (Alaska vacation)

Q: What were some of the highlights of your time there?

A: I spent most of my time at sea. My parents might say that the best part is that you could sleep a lot more. I’d say that the best part was when we arrived at Skagway, and we saw the lumberjack show. This show represents how lumberjacks from Dawson Creek camp and Spruce Mill camp competed for trees.

Q: How was the local culture and food in Alaska? Did anything stand out to you?

A: One thing that really stood out was what they ate. Here, in California, we might get fast food such as chicken nuggets and fries. However, Alaska is bordering the ocean, and so the food involved a lot of seafood and fish, such as fried Cod, Halibut, or Salmon with french fries. There were also many more chowders than I could count. Smoked salmon chowder, crab chowder, clam chowder, and many more. Also, the culture is much less urban than one might expect of such a large state. I saw many totem poles, due to some regions being inhabited by Native Americans. Their culture greatly influenced the lives of the locals.

Q: What kind of activities did you enjoy most while you were there in Alaska?

A: I enjoyed watching the glaciers as we passed by on the ship. They were very beautiful, but retreating fast due to global warming. I hope that they can be preserved for posterity.

Q: Any tips for people who are planning to travel to Alaska? Any crazy weather or anything like that?

A: It’s rather cold in Alaska, so my family and I packed puffy jackets. When I went, however, Alaska was blessed with some sunlight. However, this is not what normally happens in the summer, so people have to remember to bring a raincoat.

Q: Thank you for your time.
