This week, Colts running back Jonathan Taylor gives us another spectacular performance in the first ever NFL game in Berlin, Germany. Here, he scored 3 touchdowns and rushed 244 yards in a 31-25 point win against the Falcons. In addition, he also caught 3 passes and an eye-opening 83-yard run while one point down in the fourth quarter. Now, with his jaw-dropping stats, he is projected for 1,936 rushing yards, and more importantly, 2,378 scrimmage yards. This would be the fourth-most scrimmage yards ever in a single season and coming just short of Chris Johnson’s record of 2,509.
He’s not lacking behind in scoring either. Taylor is on track to get 26 rushing touchdowns, which would again be the fourth-most in one season, with the record set at 28 by Tomlinson during his jaw-dropping record season in 2006. 28 total touchdowns would further boost his rankings and would place him at a tie for second place, just falling short of 31 total touchdowns by Tomlinson in 2006.
And it’s not just the numbers, Taylor’s impact on the field is redefining the Colts’ offensive identity. His explosive acceleration, vision through gaps, and relentless drive after contact have turned routine plays into highlight-reel moments. Defenses are stacking the box, yet Taylor continues to break through, forcing coordinators to rethink their schemes. His 83-yard dash in Berlin wasn’t just a game-changer, it was a statement. With each week, Taylor is not only chasing records but also cementing himself as one of the most electrifying backs of the modern era. If this pace continues, MVP conversations may soon include his name.
