Interviewer: So, I heard you had a baseball game last Thursday. How did it go?
Matthew: It was a very intense game with my team. We played and lost to Menlo.
Interviewer: Sorry to hear about your team’s loss. What was the win-loss record for the season so far?
Matthew: Well, due to time limits, we don’t have much practice. So…we’ve pretty much lost every game.
Interviewer: Well, it is what it is. The Detroit Pistons had a 28-loss streak to start their NBA season off. I have faith in your team.
Matthew: Thanks for the support.
Interviewer: Do sports players gain more stress from losing several games in a row? If yes, can you share a personal experience and how it affected your game?
Matthew: At first, our team was a happy bunch at our first game. However, as we got into the season, our morale degraded with every lost game. I hope that we can keep our spirits up.
Interviewer: Did you do anything to prepare for the game? Like a pregame warm-up or some type of food you eat before the game? Anything like that.
Matthew: Well, as a pitcher, the coach put me through a ton of stretches for the game. The day before the game, I was held back from a lot of strenuous things, such as throwing long distances. However, I got some throwing practice at the start, and in between every inning.
Interviewer: Thank you for your time. Good luck with your next game!
Matthew: No problem.
